Dorin Frankfurt chose to go back to her roots in her new winter collection. As she delved into her personal history and the home of her grandfather, she created an intimate collection full of romantic nostalgia.
Autumn in the country has always been infused with intimacy – synonymous with the quiet and calm of the holiday season. Days of Innocence start off the year, when the weather starts to cool and a slight breeze starts to blow. This is a time of self-reflection, tolerance, and new beginnings.
Either way, Dorin Frankfurt chose this mood for the spectacular autumn collection. The collection was heavily influenced by her personal history, providing a sense of intimacy. Many pieces were inspired by the home of her grandfather, Israel Bitali (Unterman), who was a prominent religious man that reformed his Judaism.
"The Israeli holidays are celebrated in the unity of friendship and mutual respect. We cried, prayed, debated and accepted each other ... That's how we grew up, how we were raised and in this period, I have the most romantic association to the past in which I was inspired for creating this collection ..." Frankfurt claims.
The Summer collection "Rococo Bat-Yam", the clothes were intricate and extravagant, while the fall collection was delicate, and clean. These new staples make for rich and solid items that are more than a seasonal trend, they can be re-invented in years to come.
The colors and materials are directly influenced by the world of Judaism - the holidays, shawls and synagogues.
The knitwear collection includes shades of dusk, the time when the world falls into wisdom. Smooth A-line dresses, short wrap knits and square maxi skirts in rich fabrics were constructed in impressive fabrics like silk and viscose.
Frankfurt added details with black stripes, crisp shirts and dresses, and pleated knits.
The lengths of the clothing deeply reflected the Haredi world. Carefully constructed sleeves and shoulder variations could be found all throughout the collection, aside from the ponchos, scarves, cardigans. Most of the pieces were large and could be wrapped around the body. Dresses with small capes in embroidered tulle fabric and square tops over thin shirts were found on the runway.
