One of the boldest trends that came out of Fall/Winter 2013/14 was plaid. It made its debut on the runway in large checkers, tight-knit squares and Scottish tartan. The silhouettes ranged from masculine to soft shapes, all the while sticking to a classic and feminine feel. Textures of the fabric became prominent in the men-style suits (a major trend for this upcoming winter), as well as ankle-length coats, oversized jackets, hats, and pencil skirts. The top colors came in black and white, red, blue, and gray. Among the designers who presented this trend: Moschino, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce&Gabbana.
