TOMMY HILFIGER has cancelled its New York Fashion Week menswear show. The American brand traditionally presents its men's collections during the city's womenswear line-up; "We've made a strategic decision to focus our attention during New York Fashion Week on our women's business," said Avery Baker, Tommy Hilfiger Group chief marketing officer. "Menswear remains at the heart of the Tommy Hilfiger brand, and we will continue to develop innovative ways to present our men's collections through channels that speak directly to consumers."

In other news for the brand, menswear creative consultant Simon Spurr has departed the label. Future collections will be now be designed by Hilfiger and his in-house team. Menswear accounts for 60 per cent of Hilfiger's global retail sales, with womenswear making up the remaining 40 per cent.
The brand has also announced that it is moving its next womenswear show from its traditional Sunday 8pm slot to Monday September 9 at 11am, WWD reports.
