Aldo Fall/Winter 2013-14 Collection

Shoe label ALDO, has launched their new fall/winter collection, releasing a series of items in bold colours, unique designs, and references from the inspiration from the world of architecture.

The new collection has great diversity in terms of items, boots and booties with minimalistic and clean cuts with a smart use of buckles, straps, and accents of gold and metallic silver, which have become an integral part of the brand's designs. The top designs came in variations of platform shoes, chunky heels made of wood, thin stilettos, and flats.

           

The most prominent items in the collection were thigh-high boots, ankle boots, shoes with tractor soles, heeled sneakers with stud detail, suede boots in black snakeskin print, oxford flats in retro finishes, and heels in leopard print.

       

Aside from the standard fall colors of white, black, gray, browns, camel and beige, new bold hues made their way into the collection: purple, mustard, burgundy, red, blue, and metallics.

In contrast, the mens collection revolved around comfort and functionality. The items ranged from massive leather boots, suede lace-up shoes, studs and buckles with military accents, ankle boots to walking shoes in earthy tones. Both styles caught my eye, in which led me to the checkout with retro oxfords in patent leather as well as sneakers in camouflage and animal print.
