Pre-Fall 2013: Animal Collective

3.1 Phillip Lim
From jagged stripes to textured spots, Pre-Fall is all about the animal print. The difference about this season though is the wearability of the collections. Coming in the forms of quilted jackets, trenches, boxy dresses, and even structured trousers, animal print will soon be a seasonal stable in every wardrobe. In 3.1 Phillip Lim, high-street chic became a mix of leather and leopard. Christopher Kane opted for muted grays that could easily be worn in many different ways. Thakoon Addition hit all the right notes in an oversized jacket, while Lanvin went all out with print on print. And finally, Givenchy revealed their unique take on cowhide apparel. So I’ll go forth and ask, is animal print the new neutral? You can incorporate this trend into any ensemble whether accessorizing with printed shoes, scarves, and handbags. If you’d like you can even mix and match your entire outfit (i.e. Lanvin) with different colors, textures, and silhouettes. How will you wear your prints?
